Getting Started
A web site basically does one of
two things. For businesses, it advertises and promotes specific products
and/or services--the site acts as marketing platform. Or, for family or
individual focus, a web site is an outlet for a particular personality to
extend itself to the world.
Limestone9
Consulting takes pride in developing sites that are soundly
functional, quietly attractive and easy to navigate. We are NOT
into creating sites that are complicated or rely on gimmicky.
The amount of
information and topics you want or need displayed will dictate the
number of pages -- the size of your site. This is something we will
need to discuss with you. To make your web site user-friendly and
to communicate its contents effectively, your information will be
arranged in an easy to review and acquire order. If you do not have an
idea as to how you would like your information to appear to visitors, we
will help you make those decisions.
While every web site has a
"home" or "welcome" page, other pages might consist of a combination of
items or topics. Such as: Company or Personal Information, Product
Information, News, Current or Upcoming Promotions, Photographs,
and a host of other items special to individual needs.
To develop a page, most of
the features are crafted through a several step process particular to
each item or topic. These steps include creation of page attributes,
content and layout, links, sizing, coloring etc., as well as the selection of fonts,
graphics and photos, background colors or designs, shapes and
lines.
Web
Site Construction Costs
Consulting / site development is billed in one of, or a combination of, the following ways:
1) at a pre-negotiated price per
page 2) a predetermined hourly rate
3) an agreed upon amount for a complete web site.
Time on task for development and related costs very upon the complexity of the
development of your site's pages and take into consideration verbiage creation, research, and editing, photography, photo or illustration revisions, page layout, link bar creation, etc. Before building your site, we will discuss its development and our
proposed cost with you.
NOTE, that
some client requested minor changes or
deviation from original, agreed upon site plans are expected to
occur during site construction as new ideas and unforeseen needs occur.

Radical
alterations,
however...
modifications due to a client's
"change
of mind" that effect the entire site, majority of
the site or several involved pages of the site that have already been or
are nearly completed, will be assessed
additional, forewarned, explained and agreed upon hourly charges (or
agreed upon set amount). For example, changes/modifications
to the
design layout, link bars, page headers, logos, etc., applicable to
many or all pages would be considered radical alterations.
Understandably, this includes
many hours of unpredicted
"revision" work.

Prototype
Development
A prototype of a potential web site might be in order for the following reasons:
1) A client is uncertain about their
site needs and would like to investigate different visual perspectives
and impacts.
2) A client might want
to select from more than one design scheme.
3) A complex, multi-page site requires
considerable time to design and develop… identifying acceptable details
as well as unacceptable details saves both time
and money.

Additional services

locating and or constructing suitable
graphics for your site might require additional time. The
creation of images (titles, headers, etc), specifically
created for a web site, involves a several step
process.
Business
Logos - Sometimes, a logo

have a logo or would like your current logo revised, one can be made at

be possible, should you want, to personally upload new or
take down old photos from your site. To utilize Picasa you
must first have a FREE
Google account. If you do not have one, we can assist
you.

can also be easily installed on your site. Most easy
is using videos posted to YouTube.com. Limestone9
Consulting can also create movies from photos and or edit,
render and use
your personal digital videos on your website.

Updating / Maintenance of Your Site
For some on a regular basis and others occasionally, it might be
important to updated your site's existing pages new material.
Posting new information or images will keep your site fresh for visitors and will
tempt them to browse by more often. This can be done several ways
including a frequently updated bulletin board, promotion of monthly or seasonal
specials or other. For maintenance, you might decide to change
the look of your page by changing colors, adding new graphics or
photographs, or eliminating or changing verbiage.
In some instances, you might later discover a need for additional pages. They
can be added at a slightly reduced or negotiated rate.
